First step is to get some wood. HOLD Left Click to destroy. After getting some wood, open your inventory by pressing the 'E' key. Now place all the wood you've collected into one square at the top right corner. Now get the blocks known as 'Wooden Planks' out of the square next to the squares. Now place four wooden planks in all the squares.
Now collect your crafting table. OK, now place your crafting table down. Place two wooden planks on top of each other. Collect your sticks. Now, place two sticks in the middle at the bottom, and 3 planks at the top row. Collect the pickaxe. Now you should start mining any stone you see, but first make a sword by placing on stick in the middle bottom row, then two wooden planks above it. You have your sword. NOW go mining. If you have the game on Peaceful, no need to worry. But, Easy or above difficulty will spawn in Mobs, so be careful.
After mining, cut down some trees and start building a house. But also remember, if you find any sheep, kill them, they're essential for making beds to skip the night.
